Eid Mubarak

On behalf of our team at DHF, Eid Mubarak!
We hope that you enjoy blessings, reflection and festivities with family and friends.

May our intentions, acts of worship and any good habits we developed during Ramadan be accepted and guide us as we carry on.  Over time, our work in the community has made us very aware that not everyone has the benefit of supportive people or a network of support around them.

The dynamics of power & control in domestic violence situations creates isolation, fear, confusion, silence and stigma.  In recent months and weeks, some have had to flee their home for safety and anonymity for the time being.

This is a reminder that we need each other to get through uncertainty, rough patches, and sometimes harm and danger.

It is this vantage point where the work of DHF aims to overwhelmingly fill this gap, and to provide the emotional and tangible support toward the unmet needs of our vulnerable neighbors, mostly mothers and their children of the South Asian & Middle Eastern diaspora.

It can happen to anyone.  1 in 4 is the global statistic.  To this effort, we will soon be hosting our annual and private ‘Survivors Eid Celebration’ event for our client families, because no one needs to “go it” alone on our watch.

***If you and/or your business would like to offer a service or help underwrite efforts toward this very important annual event, we enlist your camaraderie and teamsmanship as we approach this work.
Please contact info@dhfny.org to get involved.
The urgency is now.

A note to our Survivors:  It is our honor to See You, to Hear You and to Believe You.

In Gratitude & Solidarity Always.
