What is Domestic Violence
Do you Know?
Anyone can be a victim of Domestic Violence, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, faith or class.....
A pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to obtain or keep control over an intimate partner is known as domestic abuse, also known as “domestic violence” or “intimate partner violence.” Abuse can take the form of threats or acts that are physical, sexual, emotional, financial, or psychological and are intended to influence another person. This covers any actions that terrify, threaten, manipulate, cause pain or embarrassment, or injure or wound someone. Any race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or gender can experience domestic abuse. It can happen in many different kinds of relationships, such as marriage, cohabitation, or dating. People from all educational and socioeconomic backgrounds are impacted by domestic violence.
Any member of the household, including children and relatives, can become a victim of domestic abuse. A pattern of abusive behavior toward an intimate partner in a dating or family relationship, where the abuser exercises power and control over the victim, is the typical manifestation of domestic abuse. Economic, sexual, psychological, or physical abuse can all occur in domestic settings. Rarely are incidents isolated; instead, they typically increase in frequency and intensity. Domestic violence can result in fatalities or severe physical harm.
